		<description><![CDATA[Hi James - it didn&#039;t come across as a rant at all, more an insightful look at the current blogger outreach landscape :-) 

Personally speaking I think the sites that have price listings and are paying for content all over the place will eventually get caught or will stop at some point. As SEOs and Content Marketers, one of the biggest things I believe in is our own responsibility to work towards blogger outreach guidelines to ensure we&#039;re not fueling the fire here. Our responsibility also extends to editorial guidelines, but that&#039;s another matter. 

Until we see another casualty like Interflora, but for guest blogging and not advertorials as you rightly say, then this activity may continue. But I think if we stick to our own guidelines of which sites to outreach to, then the landscape may change - but it is up to us to ensure this happens.

		<description><![CDATA[I agree with Joe on this one, but I think that an angle could be found with SEOs possibly helping PR reps from a more data analysis perspective. 

Nowadays savvy SEOs have a really holistic understanding of consumer behaviour and other relevant data. This has really been driven by the mergence with content marketing and the upward media/content consumption from mobile devices.

Having said all that I feel that it’s challenging to attribute the work we do to have a direct impact on PR agencies bottom line. I think as SEOs we need to figure this out, so we can communicate with PR agencies in a language which they understand.
